Author Dr. Nancy Runton is also writing a book entitled, Slipping into Alzheimer's.
Recalling the life of her mother's long term battle with Alzheimer's, this book includes a one year hand written diary showing her mother's changes as her keen ability to spell and recall began to fade. Dr. Runton also has notes from family and friends who describe their friendship and loss. The process has been ongoing for more than 15 years culminating with her recent death in the fall of 2013.
Included in the book, are some of her mother's art works showing how a once vibrant person changes into one "Slipping into Alzheimer's" and becoming unaware of her surroundings. There are photos of her changes through the process, and a discussion of family actions taken during these changes.
